入塔气体要洗涤、除尘、静电除焦、清除掉杂质及降温等过程必不可少。煤气中焦油呈雾滴状，悬浮在脱硫液中，与溶液中的硫连在一起，使硫的浮选聚合发生困难，且有消泡作用。当焦油在系统中累积到一定浓度时，可将吸收剂和催化剂包裹起来，无法参于化学反应（溶液被污染中毒）。

The tar in the gas is in the form of droplet, suspended in the desulfurizing solution, and connected with the sulfur in the solution, which makes the flotation polymerization of sulfur difficult and has the effect of defoaming. When the tar accumulates to a certain concentration in the system, the absorbent and catalyst can be wrapped up and cannot participate in the chemical reaction (solution is polluted and poisoned).
机械性杂质，如一些灰尘、细小煤颗粒、油污杂质等，不但影响洗涤效果，而且这些机械性物质带进塔后，很难再出来，会沉积在塔内件和填料里发生堵塞。因此，进塔气体一定要经过除尘、除焦、洗涤、降温、气水分离等预净化处理，以减少对脱硫的干扰。
Mechanical impurities, such as some dust, small coal particles, oil impurities, etc., not only affect the washing effect, but also these mechanical substances are difficult to come out after they are brought into the tower, which will be deposited in the tower internals and fillers to block. Therefore, the gas entering the tower must be pretreated by dedusting, decoking, washing, cooling and gas-water separation to reduce the interference to desulfurization.
